Got a case of the blues? Swing Out Sister music will rock you into good spirits in no time. It’s that lively, fun, and smooth! They always have that distinctive sound that I simply love.
Definitely one of the best British bands to come out in a long time, Swing Out Sister was definitely made a great strides in popular music prior to the present age of boy bands and teenage divas. Swing Out Sister produced some of the catchiest, fun songs to be heard in a long time. Lead singer Corrine Drewery and musician Andy Connell became one of the best duet imports from the United Kingdom since the Eurythmics and Everything But The Girl hit America.
A marvelous British jazz-pop group from the 80’s, Swing Out Sister, led by sultry singer Corinne Drewery, are best known for the bouncy US Top Ten hit, “Breakout.” But there’s a lot more great songs where that came from. Drewery’s voice is smooth & silky, and so is the group’s music. Great smooth grooves & snappy tunes from start to finish. I’m glad that Swing Out Sister are still together to this day, ’cause they are GOOD. ”
With some great songs such as the catchy “Breakout, Am I The Same Girl, La la Means I Love You, Precious Words, Forever Blue, You On My Mind. I automatically became a HUGE fan of this band. Their version of the classic song, “La La Means I Love You,” which has been covered by many groups and artists such as Prince and the Jets, was very soothing and enticing. “You On My Mind” also became one of my new favorites due to a great arrangement and Corrine’s pleasant voice.
The good news is that Swing Out Sister is back and have released a new album, “Beautiful Mess.” I am anxiously looking forward to listening to this album and hearing more from this talented duo. This album is a must have for any fans all over the world. I also heard that they are coming to Manila.

SOS is definitely one of the better bands to come out of the U.K. and the new release is a must have for SOS fans. You won’t be disappointed. Out There and Something Every Day are stand out tracks that hark back to the day when the 80’s gave rise to that Philly-soul infused duo that we’ve come to love. Hope lingers on that the band will return for a U.S. tour with Andy in tow in support of Beautiful Mess and no doubt should the announcement come the fans will breathe a collective sigh of relief.
